The new yellow will be added to the Fashion, Home + Interiors palette. The New Jersey-based firm provides color standards for the design and creative industries, and gives advice on color trends. “This is the color of hope, joy and optimism,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. It wanted to add an “energizing” shade to its spectrum, so it partnered with the filmmakers and mixed up Minion Yellow. Here we follow them while they hitchhike to Orlando to go to an event generally known as Villain-Con, where they meet their next (pre-Gru) boss, Scarlet Overkill. That’s 42 years pre-Gru, as we’re told at the start with the new trailer, as that’s the amount of time before the release on the original Despicable Me. The tune features from the latest location for the animated spin-off/prequel Minions, joining the 1st trailer‘s employment with the Jimi Hendrix Experience’s “Foxy Lady,” also re-used here, that will put us within the setting of 1968 America. Maybe that’s a part of someone’s master plan, to help keep the singer rolling as part of his grave through eternity.
